Stoneware Bowl – Dragonfly Sgraffito & Underglaze Design

This wheel-thrown stoneware bowl was handmade by Kim Filiaggi and features a detailed dragonfly illustrated with layered underglaze and sgraffito work by Elizabeth Schowachert. The textured wings, finely carved linework, and warm accent tones create a bold yet balanced design. The dragonfly’s vertical orientation gives this piece a strong visual presence while keeping the composition clean and refined.

A clear, food-safe glaze brings out the depth of the colors and carving, while the exterior remains natural to highlight the subtle faceting and hand-thrown character of the clay. Crafted to be both functional and expressive, it reflects our studio’s approach to everyday ceramics elevated.
