The surface design, created by Elizabeth Schowachert, depicts a trout emerging through rippling water, combining hand-carved linework with painterly washes of blue, gray, and soft violet. Subtle hints of ochre and black add depth and movement to the composition, bringing the scene to life against the bowl’s natural stoneware tone. he exterior features a beautiful chattering pattern, adding texture and visual rhythm that complements the smooth, glazed interior.
